The Harris County Sheriff's Office is set to release new surveillance footage in connection with a triple murder and arson case that has been under investigation since last August in the Cypress area. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, in collaboration with the FBI, has announced a press conference scheduled for next Tuesday to unveil the video that purportedly captures a suspect involved in the deaths of Kelly Masciarelli, her son Kolin Foster, and Foster's girlfriend Cameryn Richard. The surveillance is said to show the suspect entering a black sedan driven by another individual, according to KHOU 11 News.
As the investigation persists, the officials have decided to increase the reward for information leading to an arrest to $25,000. The incident occurred on Plains River Drive in the Cypress Mill Park community, where a house fire reported on August 18, 2024, yielded the discovery of the three victims, all exhibiting signs of trauma before the blaze consumed the residence. In a statement obtained by Click2Houston, an accelerant may have been used to intensify the fire, which is believed to be set after the killings.
A resident of the area, Kandy Reddoch, expressed to KHOU 11 News the horror of witnessing one of the victims being pulled out of the burning house, describing it as "terrifying" and saying, "I just still see her on the ground." The new surveillance video is expected to play a significant role in the case, potentially shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the incident and identifying those responsible.
Tina Taylor, the mother of victim Cameryn Richard, is expected to attend the upcoming press conference. The Harris County Sheriff's Office and FBI Houston continue to appeal to anyone with information about the case to come forward, and have provided the FBI Houston hotline at 1-800-CALL-FBI and the option to submit tips online at Tips.FBI.Gov. The increased attention and anticipation surrounding the release of the surveillance video suggest that investigators are optimistic it could provide a breakthrough in the case.
