A house fire in Houston's Westbranch area on Monday, around 6:21 p.m., caused significant damage but no reported injuries. The fire, which occurred at 10600 Eagle Glen Dr., resulted in an estimated $60,000 in damages, while emergency personnel were able to save approximately $260,000 worth of property, according to an official report.
The Houston Fire Department sent 45 personnel to the scene, including resources from Stations 2, 4, 5, 50, 77, 49, 57, and Rescue 1. Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the one-story house and took action to ventilate the roof, conduct a search, and confirm that the residents were safely outside. Their response helped prevent further escalation of the situation.
A thorough investigation into the origins of the fire pointed to a failure of equipment or heat source. "Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a 1-story house and made an offensive attack," detailed the report from Houston fire Department. The fire, which is believed to have started above a bathroom exhaust fan, led to multiple breakers tripping. In response, firefighters cut the power to the premises to prevent any further electrical hazards.
To improve fire safety, residents are encouraged to regularly inspect their home appliances and conduct electrical checks to reduce the risk of similar incidents.
