Major roadway improvements are on the horizon for New Bridge Street with the commencement of paving operations starting this week. According to a notice from the City of Jacksonville, the New Bridge Street Infrastructure Project will see its next phase begin tomorrow when milling and patch work kick off the process of prepping the street for its final paving phase.
The designated area is set to range from the Jacksonville Post Office near Labor Finders up to Huerth Street, signaling a focused effort to enhance this stretch of thoroughfare. In a statement obtained by the City of Jacksonville, local commuters are advised of the potential disruptions that might arise from the January 6-10 milling activities. These essential steps in road preparation will culminate in the eventual repaving from the Bayshore Boulevard and New Bridge Street intersection down to Warlick Street.
It's not just the asphalt that's receiving a facelift; the project has already completed a suite of enhancements designed to boost pedestrian safety and traffic flow. Included in these upgrades are newly installed sidewalks, medians, brick utility strips and efficient curb and gutter systems, not to mention upgraded security lighting and specifically designed delivery islands for smoother commercial interactions.
