Drivers on the Southern CC-215 beltway should expect delays starting this week due to lane restrictions as work begins on the Decatur bridge. Eastbound traffic between Jones Boulevard and Decatur Avenue will be impacted by 24-hour lane closures. As reported on the Clark County’s official website, this work is part of a larger project to replace bridge joints and improve this section of the beltway.
In the coming weeks, westbound motorists on the CC-215 will also face similar restrictions. These changes are expected to begin two weeks after the eastbound work, with lane limitations occurring near the Decatur offramp. This is part of a broader project to widen the CC-215 between Jones Boulevard and Interstate 15. Once completed, the new configuration will provide five lanes in each direction, which is expected to reduce congestion for traffic traveling from I-15 to westbound CC-215 and for those exiting eastbound CC-215 to I-15.
Enhancements are not limited to widening alone, the project encompasses a suite of upgrades to improve the overall driving experience. Among the planned improvements are pavement repairs and resurfacing, drainage facilities, new signage, and lighting. Additionally, interchange modifications at CC-215 and Las Vegas Boulevard are set to take place, with works extending to Las Vegas Boulevard, Hidden Well Road, George Crockett Road, and the associated on and offramps between Las Vegas Boulevard and the CC-215.
Travelers can look forward to not just a broader pathway but a sturdier one, with reinforced infrastructure ensuring longevity and safety. The Clark County emphasizes that, "Once completed, this project will relieve congestion for motorists merging from the I-15 to the westbound CC-215 and exiting the CC-215 eastbound to I-15." Commuters affected by the construction are advised to expect delays and plan their routes in advance.
