On Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 11 a.m., locals are invited to join the festivities as officials unveil a commemorative stone marker during a brief ceremony at Wayne Ferguson Plaza, 150 W. Church Street.
Marking 100 years since the foundation of the city, this event is part of a larger initiative to remember the city's journey. According to the City of Lewisville, the Heritage Walk already features a selection of ground-level granite markers, each one chronicling a significant chapter in Lewisville's past. These include the city's incorporation date, the hiring of the first female police officer, and the legendary Texas International Pop Festival. The upcoming marker is set to join this esteemed collection, heralding another proud moment for the city to share publicly and to permanently embed into the fabric of its streets.
