The Maryland Office of the Attorney General's Independent Investigations Division (IID) has released body-camera footage from a fatal police shooting incident that occurred on Nov. 30 in Howard County, capturing the moments before 29-year-old Tyree Winslow was shot inside a home on the 10000 block of American Pharoah Lane. According to FOX Baltimore, the footage shows officers arriving at a domestic disturbance call, finding a broken window and a gun case before encountering Winslow and a woman on the second floor of the residence.
The situation escalated quickly, with audio captured on the video indicating a woman yelling and Winslow, who appeared with a long gun, ignoring officers' commands to show his hands and stay put. Shell casings were visible on the ground outside the home as the scene unfolded, leading up to the officers firing multiple shots. The Daily Voice reported that officers initially responded to reports of a man banging on the front door and that the suspect had fired several shotgun rounds into the door before breaking into the house through a window. This preceded a shootout between Winslow and two officers.
Following a barricade established by the department’s Tactical Team and attempted communications with the suspect, officers made entry into the home at approximately 5:40 p.m., where Winslow was found suffering from gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene. Alongside him, multiple loaded firearms and a knife were recovered.
