A Metro Detroit mobile dog grooming business faces unexpected downtime following what the owner describes as a road rage incident in Plymouth. Amanda Rae, owner of Lollipup, found herself caught up in an altercation while traveling to a client's home on Monday around 6:15 pm at Lilley and Ann Arbor Roads. According to a report by WWJ Newsradio, Rae was confronted by an irate driver of a gray sedan who abruptly exited his vehicle and punched out her bus window before fleeing the scene.
Describing the chain of events, Rae told WWJ Newsradio, "I’m looking around, thinking, oh my God, did I do something wrong?’ I never saw him, so I didn’t think it affected me at all. And next thing I knew, he got out of his car and was walking towards my bus, yelling and swearing and punched out my window." After the assailant sped away, Rae managed to pull into the nearby Amoco gas station to call the police. Still shaken by the incident, Rae stated that she was unsure what might have triggered the man's violent outburst, suggesting that perhaps the assailant mistakenly thought she had cut him off.
The business, which operates from a 19-foot short bus fitted with a large water tank and generator, is a moving lifeline for Rae. "My bus is my baby; I would never do anything reckless in it," Rae remarked during her interview with WWJ Newsradio. She recalls that traffic surrounded her at the time of the incident, and yet none of the other motorists remained on the scene to offer support or testimony. Rae has reached out through the Lollipup Mobile Grooming Facebook page, seeking any potential witnesses who can help identify the suspect.
The post from Lollipup Mobile Grooming details the incident, including the vehicle’s partial Texas license plate, and calls for any additional information from witnesses to help fully identify the individual responsibly. "I would absolutely love for someone to come forward and say ‘oh, I witnessed it and I saw it’ or call and help find this person," Rae expressed to WWJ Newsradio.
