The National Weather Service in Milwaukee has issued a weather outlook that suggests a mix of precipitation and chilly temperatures for the region. According to the National Weather Service latest update, there's a likelihood of drizzle, snow, and freezing rain before noon today, with a shift to a possibility of flurries post-5pm. For residents anticipating the thermometer's stay, a breathable yet brisk high of 34 degrees is forecasted, accompanied by winds shifting from south to west throughout the day, potentially reaching gusts of up to 25 mph.
The National Weather Service predicts only a chance of flurries before 8 p.m. followed by mostly cloudy conditions. Affected by the incoming western winds, which could gust as high as 30 mph, the wind chill could make temperatures feel as low as -5 to 5 degrees, painting a frigid canvas for the city's evening.
The outlook for the rest of the week indicates that while no major weather disturbances are expected after today, temperatures will remain decidedly on the cooler side. Brighter skies are on the roster for Monday and Tuesday, but don't let the sunshine fool you; high temperatures are only poised to rise to the mid-teens with wind chill values making the air feel significantly colder. The National Weather Service also notes that skies will remain mostly clear through Tuesday night, with low temperatures hovering around 5 degrees, and wind chill values between -5 and -15 degrees will likely keep Milwaukee residents bundling up.
Later in the week, signs of a slight warm-up emerge. By Wednesday, the thermometer is expected to climb to near 22 degrees under mostly sunny skies. A 20 percent chance of snow is noted for late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning, but temperatures are predicted to ascend to a more hospitable high near 36 degrees by Thursday midday. Balmy, by winter standards, as Milwaukee gets a brief reprieve from the teeth-chattering cold weather that often blankets the region this time of year, as per the National Weather Service.
