Milwaukee residents are preparing for winter weather, as the National Weather Service (NWS) in Milwaukee has issued the latest forecast. Snow is expected to start late this morning and continue through the night, with flurries giving way to more steady snowfall. Temperatures will reach a high of 22 degrees, but wind chills may make it feel as cold as -10 degrees.
According to the National Weather Service, snow accumulations are predicted to be less than half an inch during the day and less than one inch overnight. Although the snow is expected to be light, it could impact road conditions and visibility, making for slippery spots and challenging travel. Winds will gust up to 30 mph, with a shift from southwest to northwest winds around midnight, dropping temperatures to around 14 degrees.
The forecast for the coming days includes mostly sunny skies from Thursday through Tuesday, with wind chill values staying near zero. Saturday’s high is expected to reach around 35 degrees.
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for east central, south central, and southeast Wisconsin, warning residents of light snow spreading across southern Wisconsin. The snow may move northward toward central Wisconsin tonight. Although no hazardous weather is expected after tonight, the NWS advises residents to stay alert and report any hazardous road conditions. Snowfall reports from the public are encouraged for ongoing weather monitoring.
