A Milwaukee man is facing charges of first-degree intentional homicide in the grim case of a woman discovered dead in an alley, her body concealed in a garbage cart. Johnny Williams, 57, is accused of killing Myeshia Moore, 40, in an act that appears to not have been committed alone, as surveillance footage suggests the involvement of an unidentified second party, reported FOX6 News.
On the morning of December 2, workers near the Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milwaukee stumbled upon the horrific scene, initiating the investigation that would ultimately lead to Williams' arrest last Monday; prosecutors say after which the accused admitted to transporting Moore's body using the garbage cart, however, despite video evidence and his admission detectives are still looking for another suspect, as per details shared by WISN. A criminal complaint also noted multiple gunshot wounds on Moore’s body and attempts to set the cart ablaze following the act.
The case becomes more complex in light of the suspect's criminal history which includes a felony drug charge and driving under the influence, as stated by the Lockhartvmedia Corp in a social media post. Yet, amidst this tragic narrative, Moore is remembered fondly by loved ones, with her cousin Lakesha Runnels noting in a statement obtained by FOX6 News that "She was just, she was a good person" and "Myeshia was loving, she was always happy and free-spirited. She would help anybody."
Williams, having made an initial court appearance yesterday, remains charged with the severe allegations of first-degree intentional homicide, and using a dangerous weapon, all the while the Milwaukee Police Department continues its investigation into this tragic incident and the potential complicity of others involved information shared by WISN and Lockhartvmedia Corp. Those moved by Myeshia Moore’s story have the option to contribute to her memory through a GoFundMe page established in her honor, accessible through Lockhartvmedia Corp's social broadcast channels.
