The Minnesota Vikings bought nearly $2 million worth of tickets on the secondary market for their game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday night. The team secured around 1,900 tickets to increase the number of Vikings fans at Ford Field for the NFC North title game, according to The Detroit News.
The Minnesota Vikings offered discounted $200 tickets to staff, family, season ticket holders, and team partners to ensure strong fan representation at an away game. Jeff Anderson, the Vikings' Executive VP, explained, "Given the uniqueness of this game, we wanted to offer our stakeholders—staff, family, season ticket members and team partners—an opportunity to attend." Despite concerns from the Detroit Lions, the NFL found no rules were broken, as reported by The Detroit News.
On Sunday, Ford Field will host a historic matchup between two 13-win teams, the Vikings and their opponent, with major stakes on the line. The winner will claim the NFC North title, secure home-field advantage, and earn a first-round playoff bye. Despite just 1,900 Vikings fans in a 65,000-capacity stadium, the game promises to be a fierce battle, with both teams fighting for bragging rights and playoff positioning, as per Bleacher Report.
