South Baltimore is set to welcome a new player in the realm of arts and leisure with the upcoming opening of Mudhouse Pottery Studio. Claiming its spot at 1827 Marshall St., the creative hub intends to open its doors this spring, ushering in a wave of pottery enthusiasts. The studio, residing in what used to be a 2,160-square-foot contractors garage, will dish out a variety of pottery classes, workshops, and 24/7 memberships for independent work, as reported by SouthBMore.
Spearheading the creative venture is Sarah Ahart, a Virginia Tech alum with a passion for pottery. Alongside eight-week courses and various workshops, Mudhouse will also offer its space for private events such as birthday bashes and corporate team-building escapades. Surrounded by the Riverside project's hustle, which sees the Heinz Riverside Abattoir slaughterhouse evolving into a mixed-use of office and retail spaces, the studio is poised to invigorate the local community with a new kind of energy, as noted in a release picked by Baltimore Fishbowl.
In a press release, Ahart described her venture's vision: Mudhouse endeavors to "provide a safe and welcoming environment where potters of all levels can work together and learn from each other." According to an interview conducted by SouthBMore, Kate Jordan of Lee & Associates | Maryland orchestrated the lease deal, aiding in her entrepreneurial leap and championing the studio's promise as a vibrant community fixture.
