The future of Roosevelt Boulevard is under the community's microscope as the City of Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), and SEPTA have come together with ambitious plans to reshape the thoroughfare. The "Roosevelt Boulevard: Route for Change" project encompasses an extensive overhaul slated to roll out in three phases — 'The Boulevard Today', 'The Boulevard Tomorrow', and 'The Boulevard Reimagined', target completion dates stretching from 2026 to 2040, according to the City of Philadelphia. Residents have a chance to weigh in on 'The Boulevard Reimagined' initiative during two upcoming online meetings.

As communicated by the city's announcement, the first meeting, a virtual Town Hall scheduled for Wednesday, January 29 at 6:30 PM, will open the floor for discussions on potential changes to road and transit conditions that could impact local travel. This event is a follow-up to open houses that occurred between December 2024 and January 2025. To participate, locals can connect through a Microsoft Teams meeting link provided by the Philadelphia government. The second event, a Transit Talk on Monday, February 3rd, also at 6:30 PM, will drill down into what SEPTA options are on the table.

Those who can't make the meeting dates can still have their say through an online public survey. For more information on the "Route for Change" project and ways to get involved, Philly residents are encouraged to visit the program page or direct their questions to OTIS at philly.gov's email address, [email protected] the City of Philadelphia noted.
