Authorities in Philadelphia are intensifying their search for four individuals linked to an assault in Center City on New Year's Day. The Philadelphia Police Department, reflecting on the gravity of the incident, has released images of the suspects, which were brought to the public's attention as per NBC Philadelphia.
Early in the morning of the new year, around 2:30 a.m., on the 100 block of North 12th Street, a 25-year-old man found himself embroiled in a dispute. When they got into an argument with several people, the group allegedly punched and tackled the man to the ground, as reported by WWJ Newsradio. The suspects have since been evading law enforcement, prompting a city-wide appeal for information leading to their apprehension.
More distressingly, the altercation left the victim with significant injuries; he had to be hospitalized. According to coverage from 6ABC, the man sustained "cuts to his face and a sprained ankle" – a physical testament to the violence of that unwanted New Year's reflection.
The Philadelphia Police rely not only on the released footage to jog public memory. They are urging anyone with information about the suspects to step forward.
