Officers were called to the 1800 block of Geneva Street at approximately 6:49 a.m. following reports of a man with a gun. According to the CBS 58, the suspect did not cooperate with law enforcement efforts during the majority of the engagement. The response from law enforcement included activation of the Racine Police Department SWAT Team and their Crisis Negotiation Team.
The standoff concluded with the individual being taken into custody around 12:21 p.m., as detailed by a police press release shared by Racine County Eye. Throughout the duration of the situation, no serious injuries were reported among community members or police officers, and officials have assured that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
