
Early this morning, a routine shift for a ride-share driver turned violent when he became the victim of a carjacking in Baltimore's Western District. The Baltimore Police reported the incident on the 2400 block of West North Avenue around 2:41 a.m.

On January 6, 2025, at approximately 2:41 a.m., Western District patrol officers responded to the 2400 block of West North Avenue, for a report of a carjacking.

According to the social media post by the Baltimore Police, the 31-year-old driver was assaulted by a male passenger, prompting him to exit his vehicle in an attempt to escape the confrontation. In the chaos, the suspect commandeered the vehicle and fled the scene. Local officers, acting on a descriptive broadcast, spotted the vehicle soon after in the 1700 block of Presbury Street.
A brief foot chase ensued before Western District officers could apprehend the 20-year-old male suspect. Their quick response to the detailed description of the stolen vehicle led to the arrest and subsequent transportation of the suspect to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he is now facing charges for his actions.
