San Antonio's 38th annual Martin Luther King Jr. March, which is reportedly the nation's largest, is set to honor King's life and legacy under the theme "We Are the Dream ... It Takes All of Us." Commencing at 10 a.m. today, the march will start at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy, located at 3501 Martin Luther King Drive.

Despite a forecast predicting a hard freeze by Monday morning, the events are to proceed as planned. Offering a refuge from the cold, the march embodies unity, and as the keynote speaker, Arndrea Waters-King expressed in a statement obtained by MSN, "i hope the cold on the outside, once you're coming together and standing together for something like this, you certainly will be warm on the inside."

The march will follow a two-and-a-half mile route from the MLK Academy down MLK Drive to Pittman-Sullivan Park, avoiding the issues that led to last year's cancellation due to icy roads. Although marchers are to brave the cold, a strong representation of the community's resilience is anticipated. The event's organizers advised attendees to dress warmly, according to a guide provided by KSAT News.

Commemorating the day's significance, a pre-march worship service will be held at 8 a.m. at 3501 Martin Luther King Drive. The MLK Commemorative Program, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Pittman-Sullivan Park, will include performances, a health and wellness area, along with food and merchandise vendors – ensuring there is something for everyone despite the cold weather's aim. To facilitate attendance, free VIA bus services will be provided to and from the march between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Weather conditions are being closely monitored, and additional updates are expected as the event approaches. Participants are encouraged to stay updated on the latest weather developments to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, honoring a figure whose legacy continues to inspire acts of unity and progress.
