Tragedy has struck the Santa Rosa neighborhood, where a welfare check turned into a grim discovery of four deceased individuals in a residence on Monarch Ct yesterday. The Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) labeled the incident as a multi-victim homicide, responding to a request to check on the occupants who had been out of contact for several days. Details remain scarce pending further investigation, but the police have reassured the public that there appears to be no ongoing threat to community safety.
After failing to hear from them for an extended period, the boyfriend of one of the residents made the initial call to the SRPD. Upon arrival and gaining forced entry through a window, officers found four people with significant gunshot wounds, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department. The victims, a 33-year-old female and a 28-year-old male, and two 67-year-olds, one female and one male, all sustained fatal injuries and are believed to be related. Their identities and specific familial links are pending verification from the Sonoma County Corners Office.
Detectives and Field Evidence Technicians have since processed the residence on Monarch Court. The investigation also led to a subsequent search at a linked residence in San Jose. Authorities have yet to announce any suspects or motives for the deaths. Autopsies are scheduled for tomorrow, which may provide further information on the precise cause of death.
