Seven individuals were taken into custody during a police narcotics operation in Seattle's Chinatown-International District and the Belltown area early this January. The series of arrests occurred last Friday when Seattle Police officers targeted specific locations notorious for drug-related activities.
According to SPD Blotter, officers first focused their attention on 12th Avenue South, and South Jackson where they detained five individuals. The operation continued into the Belltown neighborhood, where an additional two suspects, were apprehended. The police reportedly confiscated various narcotics including more than 265 grams of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and crack cocaine. Over $680 in cash and two knives were also seized during the arrests.
The operation is a part of Seattle's ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and the various social issues it exacerbates in local communities. Those arrested have been booked into the King County Jail, now facing charges related to the possession and distribution of illegal substances. As stated on the official Seattle Police Department's blog, "The suspects were booked into the King County Jail on suspicion of narcotics-related charges." This operation is logged under Incident Number 2025-2489/West Precinct.
