Universal Orlando Resort is about to get more cosmic with the addition of two space-themed hotels near the soon-to-be-opened Epic Universe theme park. The Stella Nova Resort and the Terra Luna Resort are the latest lodgings to join Universal's portfolio, and both are now taking reservations ahead of their opening dates. Fans of space exploration and leisurely luxury, take note: Your next vacation spot may just have been decided.
Stella Nova, described by WFTV as a destination that begins with an entrance through a "black hole," boasts 750 rooms, a pool arcade, and a gym among its amenities. "You enter through a black hole into the hotel; our guest rooms feature space station style windows; it just really puts you in a different place," Dennis Quinn, senior VP of Hotel Commercial Strategy for Universal Orlando, said. The Stella Nova Resort is slated to open on January 21, with its counterpart, Terra Luna, following a few months later on March 25.
ClickOrlando got a sneak peek of these galactic accommodations, highlighting the 144,000 hand-laid tiles that adorn Stella Nova and Terra Luna's exteriors. The hotel's façade isn't just for show. It incorporates design elements based on James Webb Telescope imagery to create shifting visual experiences throughout the day.
On the inside, the hotels do not shy away from an immersive experience. Stella Nova's lobby ditched straight walls for a more organic look, anchored by the Nova Bar in front of terrazzo floors. In addition to the bars and grills, guests can savor American classics at Cosmos Cafe and Market within the Stella Nova Resort. As for amenities, both hotels will not disappoint. A nearly 10,000-square-foot pool, a hot tub, a fire pit, and various recreational activities promise a reprieve from the excitement of theme park adrenaline.
Shuttles will whisk guests between the resorts and the theme park. Stella Nova falls under Universal's prime value category. Room rates start at $147 per night, and for those planning further ahead, the Terra Luna Resort will open in late March.
