Vallejo Police Department officers engaged in a high-stakes pursuit last Friday, which resulted in the arrest of a suspect driving with an expired registration. Vallejo PD's Patrol Division spotted the 2019 Honda Accord on Broadway Street near Tennessee Street. Instead of pulling over when the officers signaled, the driver quickly accelerated, initiating what would become a dangerous chase through Vallejo's city streets, as reported by the Vallejo Police Department.
The pursuit came to a halt on the 200 block of Cadloni Lane. Here, the suspect ceased his attempts to evade law enforcement further, abandoning his car and attempting to flee on foot to his home. However, he soon surrendered to officers following a surround and callout maneuver. As per the Vallejo Police Department, the officers disclosed that after his rights were read to him, the suspect confessed to his actions motivated by an active warrant for his arrest. A search under the driver's bed revealed a hidden firearm, modified to illegally function as a fully automatic weapon and equipped with an extended magazine.
According to the Vallejo Police Department, further investigation confirmed that the suspect had a history of violent offenses, including shooting at a dwelling, assault with a deadly weapon, and was implicated in two separate kidnapping cases—all tying back to Solano County, where he had accumulated four outstanding warrants. The combined bail for these charges surpassed the $150,000 mark.
The consequence of the suspect's actions led to his booking into the Solano County Jail. His vehicle was towed from the scene, and the illegal firearm was entered into the department's evidence log.
