A couple with a history of public indecency charges in Waukesha find themselves facing the law once more after being accused of engaging in sexual activities at a local laundromat. Desmound Cleveland, 29, and Karen Hill, 67, allegedly did not use the facility for its intended purpose of laundering clothes, but instead for an intimate encounter on the premises on Christmas Eve, according to WISN. This incident comes after the duo were previously charged for a similar act in the lobby of the Waukesha County Jail last May.
Security footage from the laundromat captured the two lying under a blanket on the floor. "at no time in the video are the descendants seen using the laundromat for cleaning clothes" the criminal complaint stated. The owner of the laundromat promptly ejected the pair and offered apologies to other patrons present during the incident. This detail was gleaned from GMToday's reporting on the charges brought forth.
In response to this latest offense, Cleveland has been charged with disorderly conduct, facing a potential two-year prison sentence due to the repeat criminality enhancer accompanying his charge. Hill faces disorderly conduct charges as well, in addition to two counts of bail jumping for allegedly committing new offenses while previous charges were still pending. She could see up to 21 months in jail if convicted. These updates were provided by sources including FOX6 News.
The legal cases for both Cleveland and Hill are ongoing. Cleveland will return to court on February 10, and Hill’s next court date is January 23. The unusual events leading to their legal issues have sparked discussions about public decency and how laws are enforced. Whether the reasons behind their actions are clear to the public remains a topic of debate.
