West Allis residents are invited to join ENGAGE West Allis' Origami Crane Workshops to create 1,000 cranes. The cranes symbolize wishes for health, longevity, and happiness, and offer a chance to engage with the community.

According to the City of West Allis website, the first workshop will take place on  March 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the West Allis Public Library, followed by another on March 6, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the West Allis Senior Center. The workshops are free, and no origami experience is necessary. Materials and instructions will be provided.

The cranes will be turned into a mobile art installation displayed in public spaces and businesses throughout 2025. Participants can also share their wishes for the community on social media.

"Let’s make something beautiful together! Mark your calendars, invite friends, and be part of this inspiring project," as stated by the City of West Allis. ENGAGE West Allis aims to build community bonds, leadership skills, and civic engagement among residents and business owners, contributing to the city's prosperity.
