Wilmington Police, on a routine patrol last week, apprehended 28-year-old Joe Rodgers on drug charges. While conducting their surveillance in the 100 block of North Dupont Street on January 7th, officers from the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division noticed Rodgers involved in what appeared to be drug-related activity.

According to a report posted on Nixle, the arrest took place at about 12:34 p.m. Rodgers, was taken into custody without incident, and upon his arrest, authorities seized 3.12 grams of heroin, 14 grams of marijuana, and assorted drug paraphernalia from his possession.

Rodgers is now faced with multiple charges, including Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 2 Quantity, Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 2 Quantity and, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Following the arrest, Rodgers was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas, where he was subsequently committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution. His bail was set at $6,500 unsecured, which means, he could be released without having to pay if he agrees to appear for his future court dates and meets other conditions set by the court.
