The team at Wilson County Government's HR department is sporting new badges of honor — certifications in Public Sector Human Resources Administration. According to an announcement from the county's official website, two of its HR specialists, Kayla Batts-Hodge and Carol Canady, have successfully completed the rigorous PSHRA Certification Program (PSHRA-CP).
Over an intensive three-month period, Batts-Hodge and Canady dug into a curriculum that spanned, Compliance, Documentation and Policy Development, and Recruitment among other integral HR topics. The program not only required a hefty investment of time but also a keen focus on learning and applying a vast range of human resource management principles. In the wake of their accomplishment, Tim Bilderback, the Human Resources Director, couldn't hide his pride. "I am incredibly proud of Kayla and Carol for their recent accomplishment in achieving the PSHRA-CP certification," he said, as mentioned on the county's official website.
Ron Hunt, the County Manager, also chimed in, noting the professional dedication of the HR duo. "This certification acknowledges what our employees and I already know about our HR team–They are professionals who care about people and provide a best-in-class human resources experience. That’s Carol and Kayla every day," Hunt expressed, as per the county's website.
For the uninitiated, the PSHRA serves as a hub for public sector HR mavens in North Carolina. As the largest gathering of such professionals in the state, the association plays a critical role in both enhancing the function of HR in governmental agencies and in the professional growth of its members. This is especially critical considering continued education is a must to keep the PSHRA-CP certification active, ensuring that professionals like Batts-Hodge and Canady stay sharp and ahead in their field.
