A Wisconsin woman succumbed to injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Troopers from the Michigan State Police Manistique Outpost were dispatched to the scene of the crash in Inwood Township last Friday at about 7:20 p.m., as reported by WWJ News Radio.

The unfortunate incident involved the 46-year-old from Dodgeville, Wisconsin, who was unable to navigate a curve while on a trail, colliding with multiple trees. According to Upper Michigan's Source, her companions, trailing behind, called 911 and tried to revive her with CPR until help arrived. Despite the efforts of her group and emergency responders, she was pronounced dead at the site.

Troopers, helped by local snowmobilers, reached the site by snowmobile, approximately three miles northwest of Thunder Lake Road on the Haywire Grade Trail. MLive reports that an initial investigation has indicated that alcohol and drugs were not factors contributing to the tragic accident.

Michigan State Police Eighth District Public Information Officer Lt. Benjamin Ekola expressed his sympathies, stating, "We offer our condolences to the family, friends and all those who knew the victim," as reported by Upper Michigan's Source. Lt. Ekola extended his gratitude towards the assistance provided by troopers, EMS personnel, and first responders. Furthermore, he acknowledged the snowmobilers who facilitated the transportation of MSP personnel to the crash location and those who administered first aid before official help arrived.
