An Aurora soccer coach has been charged with sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, prosecutors announced. Ulrich Dahm, 67, a former coach at Aurora West College Preparatory Academy, is facing allegations that he was assaulted between September 6, 2024, and February 7, 2025, according to the 17th Judicial District Attorney's Office. Specific details about the charges remain limited due to the age of the alleged victim, as reported by CBS News Colorado.
Dahm, who worked for Aurora Public Schools since 2018, had his first court appearance Friday afternoon, CBS News Colorado noted. The date for his next appearance in the wake of the allegations, is yet to be announced. Before employment with the academy, a background check reportedly did not reveal any inappropriate behavior or criminal history attributed to Dahm.
The Aurora community has reacted with concern as the news broke out. In his communication with the families and staff of Aurora West, Principal Ryan Adams emphasized the gravity of the situation, saying, "This allegation is deeply disturbing, and my focus will remain on supporting our AWCPA community," as obtained by 9News. The letter also clarified that Dahm is no longer employed by Aurora Public Schools.
