
As a winter storm grips Baltimore, chaos unfolds on its roads, with a power truck careering into a house in Dundalk. According to FOX Baltimore, the accident occurred near the intersection of German Hill Rd and 49th St. It was a two-vehicle crash. Following the event, around 7 p.m., it was confirmed that one occupant from each vehicle had sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Weather-induced road mayhem didn't end there. The Maryland State Police were stretched thin, handling more than 150 accidents between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. As reported by CBS News Baltimore, the troopers took to social media, compelling motorists to refrain from unnecessary travel. The troopers also responded to 98 immobile or forgotten vehicles and over 424 service calls throughout the treacherous conditions.
Winter Storm Harlow continues to batter the state with heavy snow, expected to carry on this morning. The snowstorm is anticipated to leave behind up to seven inches in certain areas. This has prompted numerous school districts to shut down, delay, or pivot to virtual learning sessions. A winter weather advisory remains in force for several counties, including Baltimore City, while a more severe winter storm warning encompasses the rest of Maryland. According to CBS News Baltimore, snowfall estimates for the advisory areas hover around 2 to 4 inches, whereas the warning zone might see upwards of 6 inches.
