A tragic incident unfolded in Stark County, Ohio, when a 54-year-old woman perished in a roadway collision yesterday afternoon. Tracy Broyles, of Canton, was identified as the victim in the crash occurring near State Route 172 and Perry Drive, as reported by FOX8 News. The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is currently investigating the circumstances of the accident.

Details provided by the OSHP noted that Broyles was driving a 1994 Chevrolet Geo Metro eastbound when she attempted a left turn onto Perry Drive, allegedly failing to yield and ultimately being struck by a westbound 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. Following the incident, emergency services transported Broyles to Aultman Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. A 26-year-old passenger, also in the Geo Metro, sustained injuries described as non-life-threatening and received medical attention at the same hospital.

The driver of the Pacifica, a 33-year-old woman from Franklin, Ohio, was also hurt in the accident, along with her two children. They were taken to Mercy Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to information from Cleveland19. The OSHP has indicated that alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash. However, it is currently unclear whether Broyles wore a seat belt during the collision.

Responding agencies, in addition to the OSHP, included Perry Township Police, Perry Township Fire and EMS, Plain Township EMS, Jackson Township EMS, Massillon EMS, and Luthi's Towing, as documented by the Canton Repository. The deployment of multiple emergency response teams underscores the severity of the crash, which continues to be under scrutiny to ascertain the full sequence of events leading to this fatal outcome.
