Clark County is ushering in Black History Month with a host of activities slated for February, as announced by the Parks and Recreation department. The lineup is designed to showcase the cultural diversity and legacy of the African American community. Among the offerings, residents can engage in artistic expression at the Culture Canvas Black History Workshop Series, held every Tuesday at the Cambridge Recreation Center from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m, according to the Clark County.
In an effort to foster dialogue and understanding, the county museum is staging a lecture titled "Taking Action: Revisiting the Causes and Effects of the 1969 Uprising in Las Vegas’s Historic Westside" on February 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. This lecture is part of broader efforts to connect the dots between past civil rights battles and their contemporary reverberations, as stated by the Clark County.
