Clark County Commissioner William McCurdy II is set to host a 'Know Your Rights' Immigration Town Hall and Resource Fair in Las Vegas, aimed at providing the local immigrant community with essential information on their rights and available resources. The event is scheduled for today, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Walnut Community Center, located at 3075 N Walnut Rd, as per the county's official announcement.

Offering guidance and services, local organizations such as ACLU Nevada, Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, and the consulates of Mexico and El Salvador in Las Vegas will be featured at the resource fair. Participants can also look forward to assistance from UNLV Immigration Clinic and LVMPD. The fair is structured with two sessions, from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., sandwiching the town hall discussion slated for the hour in between.

With the purpose of empowering residents to navigate the complexities of immigration, Commissioner McCurdy emphasized the significance of accurately informing immigrant communities about their rights. "Ensuring our immigrant communities have access to accurate and up-to-date information about their rights is crucial," McCurdy said. "This town hall connects residents with vital resources and experts, empowering them to navigate complex immigration issues," according to a statement obtained by Clark County's official website.

The event is not exclusive and urges the public to participate. In an effort to reach a wider audience, the town hall will be broadcast online via Facebook Live on Clark County’s English and Spanish social media channels. During the event, Spanish interpreters will be available, ready to assist those in need of translation services.
