Tampa residents woke up to heavy fog this morning, prompting a weather advisory from the National Weather Service. The NWS office in Tampa Bay Ruskin, FL, has issued a Dense Fog Advisory that remains in effect until 10 AM EST. According to the advisory, areas such as Coastal Hillsborough, Inland Hillsborough, and Pinellas Counties can expect visibility of "one quarter mile or less in dense fog."
The advisory cautions that "low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous," and drivers are advised to slow down, use headlights, and maintain ample distance from the vehicle in front of them. Despite the foggy start, the weather is forecast to clear up later today, with skies becoming mostly sunny and a high approaching 80 degrees. Additionally, patchy fog is predicted to return after 3 AM tonight, followed by partly cloudy conditions and a low of around 60 degrees, as per a National Weather Service advisory.
Over the weekend, similar patterns are expected to continue. Morning fog will give way to mostly clear skies with highs in the low 80s. On Sunday night, the forecast promises mostly clear skies again, with lows settling in the low 60s. These conditions are anticipated to last into the early part of the week, offering Tampa residents plenty of sunshine and highs steadily climbing into the mid-80s.
By the time we reach Thursday, there's a slight change in the otherwise clear forecast, with a "20 percent chance of showers" inching into the picture. However, skies will remain mostly sunny with highs still hovering around 84 degrees, as reported by the National Weather Service.
