Calling all coffee aficionados and tea enthusiasts to downtown Raleigh! The beloved annual Raleigh Roasts event is returning to Moore Square Park on March 15. The Friends of the City of Raleigh (COR) Museum is once again spearheading this fundraiser, promising attendees a flavorful morning filled with local coffee, tea, and an assortment of treats to sample from regional vendors.
Not only is Raleigh Roasts a chance to savor local specialties, but the event also brings a communal vibe with live tunes played by Larry Karan, a local musician. Having once found its home at the museum on Fayetteville St., the event migrated to the outdoors during pandemic times. Garnering overwhelming support for its alfresco setting, the affair is set to unfold from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., just as the Raleigh St. Patrick’s Day Parade kicks off at 10 a.m., allowing patrons, encouraged by the organizers, to visit before or after the festive procession.
Last year's gathering attracted over 600 attendees and the expectations this year are pointing north of that number. Those looking to ensure a spot at the tasting tables should act promptly, as tickets are on a presale basis. Though there's a chance for a few walk-up ticket sales, they're contingent on availability on the day of the event.
With the event accessible for both young and old, prices range moderately from $12 to $20. The generous support from this year’s title sponsor, Campbell University’s School of Law, among others such as Crabtree and Symplicity Solutions, underscores the community-driven spirit of Raleigh Roasts. To become part of this anticipated local tradition and to pre-purchase tickets, potential goers are directed to the event's official webpage on the City of Raleigh website.
