An Eastpointe, Michigan man, Johnny Domingo Walker, age 64, faces a life-changing verdict after a Macomb County jury convicted him on numerous charges stemming from an incident involving his stepson. According to CBS News Detroit, Walker was found guilty of assault with intent to murder, possessing firearms and ammunition as a felon, and obstructing police, among other charges. Walker, who on December 22, 2023, shot his 51-year-old stepson multiple times, was also convicted as a habitual fourth offender.

The situation escalated when Walker, after shooting, chased his wife with the gun as she attempted to flee their house. The police, arriving during the chase, took Walker into custody while his stepson survived the ordeal, cited the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office. "I am grateful to the Eastpointe Police Department for their swift response, which undoubtedly saved lives that day. We also appreciate the jury’s time and dedication in delivering justice in this case," Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido said in a statement.

Walker's full list of convictions includes a life felony for assault with intent to murder, a felony in possession of a firearm, a five-year felony; a felony in possession of ammunition, a five-year felony; and multiple counts of felony firearm, which carry a mandatory two-year sentence each. Also, he was found guilty of assaulting, resisting, and obstructing a police officer, a two-year felony.

The jury trial concluded after five days and will lead to Walker's sentencing, scheduled for April 2.
