A Flint man, 49, was arrested and is facing charges for allegedly breaking and entering homes in Tuscola County, as stated by the county sheriff's office. The incidents took place yesterday, according to a report from WNEM.
The first call that came in to the Tuscola County Sheriff's Office was around 12:15 p.m., concerning a home on S. Vassar Road in Millington Township. "The homeowner called 911 after hearing someone attempting to enter the home and discovering a male suspect inside," as per the sheriff's office Facebook post. The homeowner then armed himself with a firearm to confront and eventually chase the suspect away. The intruder was reported to have fled the scene in a vehicle, which the homeowner managed to describe accurately enough to put law enforcement units on the trail.
Amid the search for the suspected burglar, a second breaking and entering was reported on Willard Road, occurring just before the initial incident. As reported by WNEM, the Tuscola County Sheriff's Office confirmed, "The vehicle description for this incident matched the homeowner’s description from the first incident."
Concurrently, Officer Todd Brow from the Frankenmuth Police Department happened upon the vehicle on Bray Road in Arbela Township while patrolling nearby areas. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident and has been lodged at the Tuscola County Jail, awaiting arraignment on breaking and entering charges. The Tuscola County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation into the crimes.
