
Cold-Link Logistics, a Florida-based cold storage firm, will create 123 new jobs in Robeson County by investing $85.5 million to build a warehouse in Lumberton. Governor Josh Stein praised North Carolina, stating, "North Carolina is consistently ranked as a top state to do business thanks to our skilled workforce, robust transportation infrastructure, and friendly business climate," according to the Office of the Governor.
Mandich Group’s new facility in Robeson County will create a range of jobs, including managerial, supervisory, and warehouse positions, with an average salary of $50,128, above the local wage. The $6.1 million boost to the local economy will come from a 233,000 square foot, temperature-controlled facility serving the poultry and food industries. Michael Mandich, Managing Partner, stated, "The Robeson County Community has welcomed us with open arms," as reported by the Office of the Governor.
A $375,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund is supporting the expansion of operations at the Southeast Crossroads Industrial Park in Lumberton, contingent on job creation and investment. "This is fantastic news for region and the entire state," said Senator Danny Earl Britt, Jr., noting Lumberton's prime location for distribution. Representative Jarrod Lowery emphasized the collaboration between state and local partners. The project aims to help Cold-Link expand in the southeastern U.S. and supports North Carolina’s agricultural and supply chain growth, reflecting the efforts of state "and local partners that helped prepare the site and Robeson County for economic development wins such as this," as stated by the Office of the Governor.
