Lewisville residents looking to spruce up their homes or neighborhoods are in luck. A free workshop is set on Tuesday, March 4 at 6:30 p.m., promising to show attendees the ropes on how to apply for several city-funded grants. Held at Serve Lewisville located at 1001 Edmonds Lane, this educational event is part of the city's initiative to bolster its "Diverse and Thriving Neighborhoods" as detailed in the Lewisville 2025 vision plan.
The workshop aims to reach a broad audience by providing support in multiple languages. While the main presentation will be conducted in English, materials in Spanish and Chin will be made available to assist non-English speakers. This gesture acknowledges the city's diverse fabric ensuring that language barriers do not impede residents from freely accessing valuable information on programs like the Property Enhancement Program, Love Your Block, and the Neighborhood Enhancement Program.
Detailed by the City of Lewisville's announcement, the Property Enhancement Program offers a grant rebate to help with external home repairs, Love Your Block provides a $500 reimbursable mini-grant to foster community gatherings or neighborhood improvements, and the Neighborhood Enhancement Program tops off with a matching grant of up to $12,500 for larger community projects. Residents interested in these opportunities can apply to not only improve their own homes but also to enhance their neighborhoods' overall livability and appeal.
Further opportunities to learn about these grant programs will span throughout 2025, with monthly workshops scheduled conveniently on Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Locations for upcoming workshops include the Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, Castle Hills Community Center, Lewisville Grand Theater, Thrive, and the Lewisville Public Library. Each session will provide to deep delve into how these grants can be accessed and utilized effectively by Lewisville homeowners and community groups alike.
