On President's Day, hundreds of demonstrators vocalized their discontent with President Trump's policies by rallying on the Las Vegas Strip. As reported by KTNV, the protesters, brandishing signs, converged outside the iconic Bellagio Fountains to respond to a diverse array of executive actions and policies, ranging from immigration to transgender rights, and the inclusion of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) issues.

The protests, part of a broader national movement with the moniker 50-50-1 for "50 states, 50 protests, and one movement," aimed to deliver a unifying message of opposition against the president's recent executive orders. Las Vegas was not alone in its demonstration; echoes of dissent were heard nationwide. According to a statement obtained by News3LV, Nevada GOP Chairman Michael McDonald weighed in saying, "Clearly, these people are out of touch with the working men and women of America who overwhelmingly voted for President Trump and his agenda in the 2024 election. It should come to no surprise to anyone, these are the exact items that President Trump and our entire campaign team ran."

While the sit-in at Charlie Frias Park offered a platform for about 50 individuals to share their thoughts publicly, not all were dissenting voices. Ray Boone, a guest at the Trump International Hotel, told KTNV, "I think they’re the minority. No, I don’t think it’s [protests] going to make a bit of difference. I really don’t, I mean they have the right to protest, that’s part of being an American, but will it change things? The protest? No."

Amidst the differing perspectives, Rio Antone, a speaker at the protest, gave voice to the undercurrent of fear permeating some communities, stating to KTNV, "People are fearing for their rights and their lives, and I don’t want to exist in a world where I have to fight to just be me.”
