Lewisville has thrown open the doors for its annual grant season, inviting local nonprofits and government bodies to dip into a pool of funds aimed at bolstering social services in the community. The City is now accepting Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for the 2025-26 program year, specifically targeting programs that serve low-income and moderate-income residents in Lewisville.
While the funding faucet isn’t fully turned on until the Lewisville City Council approves the final budget in August, an estimated $122,752 in Community Development Block Grant funds is up for grabs, mirroring last year’s allocation. An additional $240,000 might fill the coffers from City funds, bringing the potential total to around $362,752. However, the exact figures are as of yet, non-carved in stone as the Council's decision looms in the nearing months, as reported on the City of Lewisville's website.
Those eyeing a slice of the funding pie must comply with a series of steps including a mandatory viewing of a Pre-Application Workshop video, passing a training quiz, and completing an eligibility screen. This streamlined online approach replaces the pre-pandemic, in-person workshops and is mandatory even for organizations that are returning applicants. The city has been accepting applications since February 22nd and will continue to do so until the deadline at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 7.
