The City of Lewisville is continuing its charitable efforts with the ongoing "Giving is Golden" program, aimed at providing essential goods to various local nonprofits. Currently, the program is in a drive to collect tube socks for MetroRelief, which will run until mid-March. Residents of the city can contribute to this cause by dropping off donations at multiple dedicated locations throughout Lewisville.

Following this initial drive, there are plans firmly in place to immediately launch three additional collection efforts in April, June, and August. These drives are strategically organized to support a range of nonprofits, each with its list of requested items carefully selected to meet the most pressing needs. The organizers ambitiously aim to collect at least 2,025 units of each item during the respective collection periods.

According to the City of Lewisville, the April drive will benefit organizations like Christian Community Action, Journey to Dream, and Communities in Schools of North Texas. Donors are encouraged to contribute essentials including paper towels, toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, toothpaste, and shampoo. The Children’s Advocacy Center of North Texas, in particular, is looking for donations of full-size bath items like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and deodorant. In June, the focus shifts to Serve Lewisville, which will be collecting office and cleaning supplies. The August drive is designed to assist Book Drive for Kids, PediPlace, and Health Services of North Texas, requesting new or gently used children's books, diapers, and baby wipes.

The City has gone to great lengths to make donating as convenient as possible for its residents, setting up multiple collection sites that include prominent community landmarks such as Lewisville City Hall, The Lewisville Public Library, and the Frederick P. Herring Recreation Center. The giving spirit will also extend to coincide with festivities, with collections to be held during celebrated local events like ColorPalooza and Sounds of Lewisville.
