
Montgomery County detectives are on the trail of a suspect tied to a string of bank robberies that have hit the Kensington neighborhood, and they're turning to the community for help. The Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division released surveillance photos of the alleged bank robber, urging anyone with information to step forward.
The first robbery struck the M&T Bank on Montgomery Avenue on February 1, where, as per the official police report, the man placed a gun on the counter and made off with an unknown amount of cash. Following a similar pattern, the same suspect is believed to have robbed the Capital One Bank on Connecticut Avenue on February 7, once again displaying a firearm and demanding money from a bank employee.
As stated by the Montgomery County Department of Police, surveillance footage suggests the same individual is connected to both incidents. The suspect is described as a Black male with a dark complexion, estimated to be between 50 to 60 years old, standing around 5'10" to 6' tall.
In a bid to capture the suspect, authorities have announced a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest.
