Ready, set, go! The "Egg-Mazing Race" is not your average stroll in the park. Planned for March 28, Pullen Community Center will play host to teams of two as they navigate through Pullen Park in a competition that's equal parts mystery and hustle. According to the event description on the City of Raleigh's website, participants will be racing against the clock and each other, collecting points without any foreknowledge of the challenges they'll encounter.
This unique event is being pitched as the "most daring competition ever attempted" within the bounds of the park, with teams bound by "friendship, love, or family." Chasing down points within an hour seems an easy enough task until you consider you have no clue what to expect next. The team racking up the most points will snag themselves a special prize, adding a carrot to the end of this stick of physical exertion. And while adrenaline will be in high supply, so will be the bonding experiences, as team members rely on each other through the twists and turns of the race, according to the City of Raleigh.
Would-be racers take note: the event is targeting the fit and the fearless, as stated, "this event will require a good amount of physical activity." While it's a free event, make no mistake, it comes with a cost: a possibly bruised ego and definitely a good sweat. The race isn't for the faint of heart, nor for those under 18; only adult teams can enter this fray. So, if you're ready to lace up and light up your Friday night with a bit of competitive spirit, Pullen Community Center is the place to be, as per the City of Raleigh's announcement.
For those interested in putting their endurance and navigation skills to the test, registrations are now open. Grab your most reliable cohort and get those registrations in quickly, because nothing says 'team building' quite like scrambling around a park in frenetic fashion, in pursuit of ambiguous points and the ultimate glory of being the first-ever "Egg-Mazing Race" champions.
