A massive drug bust in Saginaw Township has resulted in the seizure of 12 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, along with other illegal drugs and firearms. Investigators from the BAYANET drug task force and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives apprehended a 33-year-old man suspected of drug trafficking, after a month-long collaborative probe into his activities.

According to a report by ABC12, the arrest took place following a traffic stop, where the man was found with approximately 10 pounds of the suspected meth in his car. The search was conducted after Michigan State Police K-9 Ranger, alerted authorities to the presence of drugs, which subsequently provided probable cause for the search.

Further investigation led detectives to the suspect's Saginaw Township residence where they uncovered an additional 2 pounds of methamphetamine, 4 ounces of cocaine, 10 grams of fentanyl, and 100 suboxone strips. Moreover, law enforcement retrieved four handguns, two of which had been reported stolen, and $4,000 in cash. Similarly, a search at another residence in Redford Township led to the recovery of two additional pistols.

The coordination of this effort was detailed in a social media post from MSP Third District. "BAYANET detectives coordinated with ATF agents over the past month to investigate a suspected drug trafficker from Saginaw Twp. On 1/29/25, the 33-year-old suspect was stopped by a trooper after travelling to a home in Redford Twp and returning to Saginaw," the post explained.

Despite the haul, Michigan State Police have not yet identified the suspect and criminal charges are still pending as the investigation continues.
