Vance County is gearing up for an economic boost as Syntec Precision Technology Corporation, an expert in engineering and fabricating precision parts, is poised to establish its inaugural production facility in North America right in the city of Henderson, with Governor Josh Stein announcing an $8 million investment set to generate 34 new jobs. "Global manufacturers like Syntec need strong communities with a steady pipeline of talent and infrastructure to support their long-term growth strategies, and we're proud that Vance County fits the bill," Governor Stein stated in the press release. The strategic move by Syntec seeks to fortify the region’s economic landscape, capitalizing on local resources, talent, and infrastructure that align with their expansive vision for growth.
The arrival of Syntec is a testament to North Carolina's bustling manufacturing sector and comes loaded with expectations of revitalizing Vance County's economy, Lei Wang and Bin Wang, owners of the corporation, expressed their excitement about the expansion saying, "We are deeply grateful to the State of North Carolina, Vance County, the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, and the NC Community College System, for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout this process. Your partnership has been instrumental in making our vision a reality, and we are excited to contribute to the growth and success of this vibrant community," according to the aforementioned press release on the Office of the Governor website. Specializing in the production of high-quality components for various critical industries, including hydraulic systems, life sciences, and transportation, the company looks to the talent-rich region to bolster their production and distribution aims.
North Carolina Commerce Secretary Lee Lilley highlighted the state's substantial manufacturing workforce as a cornerstone for Syntec's choice, saying on the Office of the Governor website, "Our ‘First in Talent’ workforce development system continues to provide a highly trained, dedicated workforce for dynamic manufacturers like Syntec." The jobs created will have wages averaging $46,985, a number slightly above the county's average, potentially pouring over $1.5 million annually into the local payroll. These statistics position the county as a fertile ground for future expansions in the manufacturing sector – a promise of elevated livelihoods and professional opportunities for residents nestled in the heart of North Carolina.
In addition to state support, local bodies such as the NC Community College System and the Vance-Granville Community College, the Kerr-Tar Regional Council of Governments, Vance County, Henderson-Vance County Economic Development Commission, Duke Energy, and the City of Henderson, are key partners in this project, reinforcing the collaborative effort to secure economic prosperity for the local community, with N.C. Senator Lisa S. Barnes welcoming the news and anticipating positive ripple effects through the region's supply chain. A performance-based grant of $100,000 from the One North Carolina Fund is part of the package aiding Syntec's landing in Vance County.
