Yesterday evening, a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 90 Westbound in Cleveland resulted in three men being critically injured and major traffic disruptions. The crash, occurring just before the West 41st Street exit, necessitated the closure of the entire westbound lane, with traffic stalling as the Ohio Department of Transportation worked to handle the aftermath.
According to WKYC, the men believed to be aged 40, 41, and 50, were transported to MetroHealth Medical Center in critical condition. Their identities have not been released. Emergency crews attended to the injured and cleared the wreckage. Traffic data indicated significant backups on connecting routes, including I-490 and I-71 north towards the I-90 and I-490 interchange, which were subsequently closed.
The crash, reported at approximately 8:37 p.m., saw first responders arrive swiftly to provide aid. FOX8 confirmed that at least three people involved in the accident were taken seriously to MetroHealth Medical Center.
By 10 p.m., all lanes had reopened, easing the significant traffic accumulated due to the accident. Cleveland19 reported that this development provided respite for motorists who had experienced delays, and traffic began to move smoothly again after several hours of standstill. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and details surrounding the incident have not yet been fully disclosed to the public.
