Ohioans can expect dry conditions and above-normal temperatures through much of the upcoming week, according to the latest update from the National Weather Service (NWS). The forecast, accessible on the NWS website, indicates a brief cooldown on Sunday but otherwise warm days just ahead for residents across Columbus, Cincinnati, and surrounding areas.

Today's weather is shaping up to be pleasant with "plentiful sunshine by the afternoon," and temperatures reaching around 60 degrees near and south of the Ohio River, according to the NWS. For our northern neighbors near and north of Interstate 70, you can expect mid-50s. Despite a soggy start with light rain and showers, the skies are anticipated to clear out, marking the onset of drier conditions.

Come Wednesday, the forecast suggests there might be chances for some light patchy rain, especially from east-central Indiana through west-central Ohio. "The most widespread rain chances will hold off until Wednesday evening/night as the front itself moves through," NWS reported. For those who manage to keep dry until the afternoon, notably parts of northern Kentucky, the mercury is set to rise into the lower to mid 60s.

Looking towards the weekend, a Clipper system looming over the Great Lakes could bring increased clouds, particularly in Ohio counties. Wrap up well on Sunday as high temps dip back into the 30s across majority of the NWS coverage area. But don't unpack your winter wardrobe just yet—the cold spell is expected to be short-lived with warmer air predicted to return by Monday.

For aviation enthusiasts or those with travel plans, VFR (Visual Flight Rules) conditions are forecasted for the majority of Tuesday. "Coverage of clouds should be highest for northern sites where brief CIGs are possible through 18z, with KCVG/KLUK/KILN seeing SKC to FEW Cu through most of the daytime," the report from the NWS explained. For flying conditions and other weather updates, folks are advised to keep an eye on the latest briefings from their local NWS office.
