Early this morning, officials reported a mix of snow, sleet, and ice in the forecast. Snow and sleet could accumulate up to an inch, while ice buildup may reach one-tenth of an inch.
The NWS alerts for portions of central, northern, and southern New Jersey, in addition to southeast Pennsylvania, which includes cities like Philadelphia, Glassboro, and Trenton. "Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning commute," the Winter Weather Advisory warns. Looking ahead, tonight, expect a mix of winter weather. Snow is likely before 1 AM, followed by snow and sleet, possibly with freezing rain. Winds will be light, shifting southeast at about 5 mph.
Transitioning into Thursday, the forecast anticipates a full swing from snow, freezing rain, and sleet into all rain after 10 AM, suggesting a high near 42 degrees. Winds are expected to stay modest, with calm transitions and an eastern flow of around 5 mph. Sunshine returns on Friday with a high near 42°F. However, expect a brisk northwest wind at 10–15 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph, as detailed by NWS.
The weekend could bring more winter weather. Snow may start Saturday afternoon, then mix with rain and freezing rain before turning to all rain after 1 AM. Sunday will be partly sunny with a high near 47°F. By Tuesday, snow is likely again with a 60% chance of precipitation and a high near 35°F.
