
In a recent social media announcement, the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office expressed gratitude to the Arlington Police Department for their diligent efforts in a high-profile murder case.
The case in question ended with 17-year-old Julian Howard entering a guilty plea for the murder of 18-year-old Etavian Barnes, the fatal incident occurring at Arlington Bowie High School on April 24, 2024. Howard, now sentenced to 40 years in prison, carried out the shooting just as students were about to be dismissed for the day. Barnes suffered multiple gunshot wounds and succumbed to his injuries after being taken to the hospital.
Assistant District Attorneys Tim Rodgers and Grayson Ezzell, Investigator Tim Pinckney, and Victim Coordinator Laura Medina were recognized by the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office for their roles in the prosecution.
