It's been three decades since the unsolved murder of Darlene Giles, a tragedy that remains etched in the memories of her family and the local community. Darlene's lifeless form was found in a secluded wooded region in the 2700 block of Arbutus Avenue, 21227. Discovered by two locals venturing along a trail, her absence had rung alarm bells when her family reported her missing back in December. Small in stature, standing 4’10” and weighing 105 pounds, the mystery of Darlene’s death continues to hang like a specter over the area.
Local authorities are again urging the public to come forward with any vital information that could help bring closure to a long-standing case. The Baltimore County Police Department is fully dedicated to pursuing justice and asks the community for assistance by contacting them. Metro Crime Stoppers, an independent organization, is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for tips that lead to the arrest and charging of a suspect in this case or any felony crime.
Those wishing to provide tips anonymously have numerous channels at their disposal, including calling Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7-LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), texting "MCS" along with their message to CRIMES (274637), or reaching out to the Baltimore County Police Department’s Homicide and Missing Persons Unit via phone at 410-887-3943, text at 443-862-9426, or email at [email protected].
