Neighbors in Beaver County have been left unsettled following the arrest of 19-year-old Dylan Bish, who is facing charges after a disturbing series of events. According to CBS News Pittsburgh, Bish, a Koppel Borough resident and Salem University student, was taken into custody on allegations of stalking and making terroristic threats toward a woman living on Third Avenue.
The disquiet began last November when the first note, containing a phone number, was found on the woman's apartment door. Attempts to identify the sender through the provided number initially fell short. However, when a more explicit and concerning note arrived in February, it escalated the situation to the level of a criminal investigation, as the note expressed a desire to dismember the victim's body. Police involvement intensified after Bish sent a text to the police department's phone claiming to have killed 20 women. Alarmingly, a video attached to the text depicted someone being skinned and tied up, leading to an immediate response to ensure the victim's safety.
In subsequent interviews detailed by Ellwood City, Bish reportedly confessed to the harassment and chillingly admitted to his obsession with the woman. He described his detailed plans for killing and dismembering her and even expressed a desire for cannibalism. Bish allegedly pursued a degree in forensic science to understand police and FBI operations to avoid apprehension.
Following his arrest, it was reported by WPXI that Bish is being held at the Beaver County Jail on a $1 million bond and is required to undergo an extensive mental health evaluation.
The Koppel Police Department expressed its thanks to the Beaver Co. Detectives Bureau for cooperating in Bish's case.
